Dr. Limbos will be making a poster presentation at the upcoming European Congress of Psychology 2015 conference in Milan, Italy. In addition to her finding that a minority of physicians use standardized developmental screening tests for developmental delays, Dr. Limbos research begins to explain the various predictors of and barriers to developmental and autism screening. Among physician characteristics studied, female providers and those working in Ontario were significantly more likely to practice standardized developmental screening. Certain characteristics of physicians' practices were also associated with increased use of standardized screening tools, including: (1) being affiliated with an academic of community health centre; (2) receiving payment through a method other than fee for service; and (3) having a lower volume of patients seen per week.
